Sefer Torah Dedication at Yad Voezer

A moving event took place in Stamford Hill on Sunday 15th March, as family, Yad Voezer staff, and friends of David Zacutta a”h gathered to honour the inauguration of a new Sefer Torah in his memory and that of his parents, Gerald (Gedalia) and Dora (Devorah).

David a”h, a resident of Yad Voezer for 33 years, was known for his warmth, love of Torah and mitzvos, and uplifting spirit. Rabbi Ephraim Klyne shared how, even in his final illness, David responded to tefillin with deep emotion.

Hosted at the home of Mrs Zelda Landau, CEO of Yad Voezer, the gathering reflected both the family’s generosity and Yad Voezer’s mission to provide care alongside spiritual growth, belonging, and connection.

Speakers, including Dayan Dunner shlita, spoke about recognising the dignity and potential within every individual. Chairperson Mr Erlanger noted that while people may differ externally, each person carries a pure and equal neshama.

The Sefer Torah will be housed in a new Beis Hamedrash on Yad Voezer’s premises. Created specifically for individuals with special needs, the new shul will be a place of belonging and connection for this community.

This occasion stands as a lasting tribute to David a”h and an expression of appreciation to his family.
